The A.C.T.S. group is hosting a Lutheran Lay Conference. This year’s title is Hindsight Isn’t Always 20/20: A look at the state of the Church in the year 2020. In March of 2020, the world changed. Every aspect of the life was affected: work, education, leisure, and even the Church. Mandated by the government, most congregations shut their doors. Was this the right thing to do? … As our lives are beginning to return to normalcy, what lessons has the Church learned? Why do we gather together like we do? Why is the incarnational aspect of the Church so important? What does the Church have to say about/against enthusiasm, mysticism, the authority of the government over the Body of Christ?
This conference will be held Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, from 9am-3pm. We will start with a short Matins service, then transition into the first session. It will be a 2-hour session with a 10 min break after an hour. Then Lunch will be provided at noon. After lunch, we will head into the second session. It is also a 2-hour session with a 10 min break after an hour. Light refreshments will be provided at each break.
Pastor Harrison Goodman will be our guest speaker and presenting along with our own Pastor Lietzau. You may recognize Pastor Goodman’s name from the Podcast he and Pastor Lietzau host called the “Uncultured Saints.” It is sure to be a deep theological discussion presented in a captivating manner. Please RSVP to the Church office — 303-424-3161 or email office at office@wrlutheran.org, so that we can have a head count for food purposes.
